Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group recently announced plans to launch two new brands, the Quorvus Collection and Radison Red, at its annual conference held at the company’s flagship Radisson Blue Mall of America in Minneapolis.
“These two brands will focus on new, emerging trends,” said Gordon McKinnon, executive vice president and chief branding officer.
The Quorvus Collection will include small, independent luxury hotels that will join the company’s distribution and marketing system but keep their individual names.
The Radisson Red brand, a mix of new-builds and conversions, will be in a midscale segment, with meeting space and limited food-and-beverage options.
The flags will join the company’s five others: Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson, Park Plaza, and Country Inn & Suites by Carlson.
Carlson, which has allocated $50 million in equity to help developers get the first few hotels to market, is developing two versions of Red – one for the U.S. market, and another for the European, Middle East and African markets.
