Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo has always had plenty to offer for meetings and events. Soon, the metro will have even more room to bring people together.

A new convention center is coming to the heart of downtown Fargo, North Dakota, creating new possibilities for meetings, conventions, conferences, and events in the metro. Planned to open in 2029, the Fargo Convention Center will give planners access to the larger, more flexible meeting space the community has been missing, while putting attendees right in the middle of one of the most vibrant parts of the metro.
The convention center will build on what already makes Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo an easy place to host an event. Downtown Fargo is walkable and filled with locally owned restaurants, shops, entertainment, public art, and plenty of personality. Across the metro, attendees will find even more great dining, distinctive venues, arts and culture, and things to do before and after the agenda wraps up.

And getting to the metro (and around it) is refreshingly simple. Fargo is an easy drive from communities throughout the Upper Midwest, with convenient air service for attendees traveling from farther away. Once you arrive, you can get almost anywhere in the metro in about 15 minutes.
But the new convention center is about more than adding square footage. It’s about expanding what’s possible.

For years, Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo has welcomed meetings and events with a community that knows how to show up, a team ready to help, and the kind of hospitality that makes hosting feel a little easier. The convention center will give the metro the opportunity to bring that same experience to larger groups and events it simply hasn’t had the space to accommodate before.
There’s still plenty more to come. In the months ahead, Visit Fargo-Moorhead will be sharing more about the convention center’s design, meeting spaces, amenities, timeline, and the opportunities it will create for planners. Stay updated at fargomoorhead.org.
