Destination Madison Collaborates with Local Hotels to Create a Single Contract for Meeting Planners

By Kassidy Tarala

Destination Madison is streamlining meeting planning process with its new “One City. One Contract.” program. Implemented March 25, this program offers meeting professionals one single contract to ease the frustrations and complications of contracting with multiple properties for a large meeting or convention. Between Destination Madison and nearly a dozen Madison area hotels, meeting professionals now have a much simpler process of planning an event in the Madison area.

“As the program launches, feedback from meeting professionals and industry leaders has been very positive. Planners are calling it a game changer, visionary and a great example of collaboration between a destination and hotel properties,” says John Leinen, vice president of sales for Destination Madison.

The program is targeted toward conventions that either use Alliant Energy Center or the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. Meeting attendees are encouraged to explore the city with the new Essential Madison Experiences offering from Destination Madison.

Currently, Destination Madison is collaborating with Hilton Madison Monona Terrace, The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governors Club, Best Western Premier Park Hotel, Hyatt Place Madison, Double Tree by Hilton Madison, and North Central Group Hotels, but any hotels in the Madison area can get involved.

“Today’s meeting attendees desire hotel options that meet their individual interests and expectations,” Leinen says. “With this destination hotel unity, it’s now easier for meeting professionals to provide attendees multiple options while saving the planner time and easing the stress that comes with contracting with multiple hotels.”
