The family-owned Mt. Washington Summit Road Company has announced that the Portland-based Olympia Hotel Management will operate The Glen House.
The new three-story, 68-room hotel will be located in Pinkham Notch by the base of the Mt. Washington Auto Road; it’s slated to open in May 2018.
Olympia Hotel Management has “the background, experience and depth within their organization that we needed to successfully market and operate the next Glen House,” says Howie Wemyss, general manager, Mt. Washington Auto Road. “They have the involvement with independent hotels and the on-the-ground practical experience of running hotels that we were seeking in a management partner.”
The hotel will have a pool and restaurant, and half of the rooms will offer balconies facing Mt. Washington. The design of the property will have a New England feel, with guest rooms that will feature a Shaker design and public spaces that celebrate the area’s history.
