Central Oregon’s largest convention center, the Riverhouse Hotel & Convention Center, recently became LEED-certified after completing major technology upgrades in its 30,000 square foot center.
In March, the Riverhouse Convention Center was purchased by Vesta Hospitality. The Vancouver-based development and management company made the decision to upgrade the Convention Center, and also made plans to renovate the guestroom and dining facilities. The project is estimated to cost around $8 million.
“The Riverhouse Convention Center needed very little work as a standalone property, however with technology changing so quickly, much of the audio and visual equipment was dated, and we want to ensure our guests and meeting clients have a seamless experience when hosting an event in our facility,” said Rick Takach, CEO of Vesta Hospitality. “We worked with a local company to execute the upgrade, which gives us access to onsite support and ensures reliability.”
Technology updates include a rewiring to allow HDMI connectivity, synchronizing video signal, brighter high definition projection, HD availability, wireless microphones, and visual displays in the hallways. The increased amenities will be available in guestrooms and meetings and events spaces.
