The Sheraton Seattle Hotel celebrated the holiday season by giving back to the community with its 22nd Annual Gingerbread Village, Providence Hospital O’Christmas Tree, the 30th Annual Senior Holiday Party, and the 62nd Annual Tim & Dan Watts Guild Santa Breakfasts.
“Every year the Sheraton Seattle staff embraces the holiday spirit through giving back to the community,” said Matt Van Der Peet, general manager of Sheraton Seattle. “We are so lucky to have a staff and generous partners that are so dedicated to donating their time and efforts to the community.”
The 22nd annual Gingerbread Village raised over $57,000 for the Northwest chapter of JDRF. Six local architecture firms and trade associations teamed up with the Sheraton Seattle Hotel’s culinary staff to design, bake, and build the creations. The Providence Hospital O’Christmas Tree auction benefited Providence Senior and Community Services, who provide healthcare, housing, and supportive services to people living in the Pugent Sound area.
On Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, more than 600 senior citizens from around the Seattle area enjoyed the 30th Annual Senior Holiday Party. Sheraton Seattle management and staff put more than 300 hours into planning, coordinating, and serving at the event. The Sheraton Seattle Hotel also serves as the home for Seattle’s Traditional Santa Breakfasts, which benefits the Arthritis Foundation Pacific Northwest Chapter. They recently partnered with the Tim and Dan Watts Guild to host the breakfasts to raise money for the foundation.
