Gettys, the hospitality design and interior architecture firm, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an educational industry invitational event later in the year. Founded by four Cornell graduates in 1988, Gettys has become a prominent fixture in design, procurement and branding for the industry.
“When we first started our firm, we never imagined we would become a global business. It’s been an amazing journey to collaborate with the best brands in the world, from the luxurious The Peninsula Hotels and Ritz-Carlton to more service-focused chains like Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn,” notes cofounder and Chairman/CEO, Roger Hill. “What’s more is the legacy we’ve been able to create for the next generation of Gettys’ team members.”
As 2013 continues, so does Gettys’ progress to strengthen its foothold internationally in the Middle East, North Africa, Asia Pacific and through the Americas. The company is opening a second office in the Asia Pacific region and leading a large-scale procurement project in Saudi Arabia, among many other projects.
“We’re enthusiastic about our projects opening their doors in 2013: Le Meridien Atlanta Perimeter; the Al Ghurair Rayhaan Hotel and Al Ghurair Arjaan Serviced Apartments by Rotana in Dubai; the Grand Mercure Dongguan and the Novotel Xinjiekou, both in China; The Epicurean, An Autograph Collection in Tampa, Florida; and the Sheraton in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. This diversity of properties really showcases our wide-range of services and locations,” notes Andrew Fay, cofounder and President/COO.
