The Langham Chicago Debuts Tea Service

By M+E Staff

The Langham Chicago hosts a holiday-themed Wonderland Afternoon Tea this season in their Pavilion Lounge.

The event was inspired by The Langham, London, which opened in 1865 and was the first Grand Hotel to serve afternoon tea. The traditional mid-afternoon ritual features a pot of tea, finger sandwiches, scones and miniature pastries. The Langham’s tea selection featured more than 20 blends, including two signature teas.

To honor the hotel’s English heritage, The Langham, Chicago’s Executive Chef Anthony Zamora and Pastry Chef Scott Green created a specialty menu including holiday-themed items like candy cane beet, icicle radish and snow dusted chestnut chocolate tartlet.

The Wonderland Afternoon Tea service will take place through Dec. 31, with seating available daily at 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Reservations are required.
