Treetops Resort in Gaylord, which just announced a $500,000 renovation to its convention center slated to begin in October, is set to welcome golfers from across the region for its 38th annual Fall Charity Invitational Sept. 28-30. Referred to on the Treetops website as “the granddaddy of all tournaments,” the event pairs three days of championship golf with a powerful community mission: funding college and trade-school scholarships for local students.
Since the first tournament, Treetops has raised more than $1.5 million for causes ranging from health care and veterans’ programs to youth initiatives and more. In just the past seven years, the invitational has awarded 72 scholarships totaling over $212,000 to Otsego County high-school students. Proceeds also build the Treetops Resort Endowment Fund, ensuring financial assistance for a larger number of students.
