The Seattle Hotel Association has selected the Bartell family as the honorees for the 2017 Evening of Hope Gala and Auction, which will take place at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle on Feb. 4, 2017. The Bartell family history has deep ties to the community. Bartell’s is the oldest and largest family-owned drugstore chain in the nation and includes 64 locations in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties, providing jobs for more than 1,800 employees.
Now in its 20th year, the Evening of Hope Gala and Auction raises funds for local nonprofits. Last year, the event raised $500,000 for Mary’s Place, which is also the 2017 selected charity. Mary’s Place fights homelessness by providing services, employment resources, medical care and shelter to women, children and families.
This year’s gala will be a little bit “Beverly Hillbillies” and a little bit Rockefeller family thanks to its theme: “Denim to Diamonds.” Music will vary from country to symphony, and J. Pacetti Precious Jewelers will be offering some gorgeous pieces for guests to procure on consignment. Décor will include floral arrangements with rhinestone denim flowers, large jewels on the tables and diamond-like sheers layered atop denim fabric drapery. The event always includes a lively auction that is sure to get a “yee-haw” from donors. seattlehotelassociation.org
