New Venue Spotlight: Philip S. Miller Park

By M+E Staff

Castle Rock’s Philip S. Miller Park officially opened in October 2014 with the crown jewel being the Miller Activity Complex with an aquatic center, trampoline room, golf simulator, drop-down batting cages and two indoor fields. Outdoors, a synthetic-turf field and more than 7 miles of soft-surface trail provide loads of additional options along with Castle Rock Zip Line Tours and Epic Adventure Tower, which are privately operated attractions.

The second phase of the park opened with a celebration on May 14, 2016 to introduce the core plaza, millhouse and amphitheater. The plaza has group picnic pavilions, an outdoor fireplace, restrooms and a splash pad, while the millhouse is an indoor/outdoor event center suitable for up to 125 people. The amphitheater with outdoor seating is already hosting concerts, shows and events. MDN Productions is working on a series of 20 events from May through December, including a summer concert series with the Town of Castle Rock.
