The app “Braindater” was recently released with the goal of connecting individuals with down time who are traveling or at a conference. This app is comparable to Tinder, however, instead of connecting individuals based on appearances, it connects users looking to learn from each other.
Braindater was created under the company E-180 that focuses on connecting users through learning.
“The mission of E-180 is to connect people all over the world to foster one-on-one face-to-face meetings,” said Christine Renaud, co-founder and CEO of E-180 Inc.
Renaud notes that through immediately connecting individuals in conference settings, this app greatly eliminates unproductive down time. Even if you have a layover at the airport and nothing to do, Braindater can help you find other people looking to be productive and learn something.
Although this app is called “Braindater” Renaud notes that it has nothing to do with your matrimonial status. This app was simply created to help other individuals learn from one another. Renaud also emphasizes that this app has nothing to do with how much continuing education users have had. “Sometimes the most meaningful knowledge is based on successes or failures in people’s lives,” she notes.
Users can send as many as three anonymous Braindate requests to other users in their same vicinity. To find fellow Braindaters, users can simply look through their anonymous brain dater invites and accept those whom they would like to meet up with. As soon as each user accepts, the app prompts users to find each other in the “brain dater lounge”.
