The 38th Annual Zoo Ball was a wild success on July 10, raising more than $1.1 million to benefit the conservation and education efforts of Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. Specifically, this year’s contributions will support the development of an innovative new education center designed to enhance learning outside of the traditional classroom and cultivate the next generation of conservation scientists.

The black-tie affair was hosted by the Zoo’s Women’s Board, which welcomed 850 guests to a night of dining and dancing, all coordinated with an Arctic Blast theme. HMR Designs created a space filled with shades of white, silver and blue, while Jewell Events Catering crafted a signature Aurora Borealis cocktail served at an ice bar created by Jewell Events that was complemented by an eight-foot polar bear ice sculpture from Nadeau’s. Further lighting and staging was provided by FROST Chicago, and other sponsors included Lathrop and Gage LLP, Jennifer N. Pritzker/Tawani Foundation/Pritzker Military Museum & Library, and Make It Better and Michigan Avenue magazines
