Planners taking events to Nashville, Tennessee, can now take advantage of Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel and its third-floor museum, Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum, that opened downtown in early October. The hotel and museum provide opportunities to discover Parton’s legacy through music, memorabilia, fashion, film, and more.
The hotel, jointly owned by Parton’s estate and entertainment company Herschend (Peachtree Corners, Georgia), features seven distinctive event spaces, from the traditional conference room The Studio for up to 100 attendees to the Parton’s Live theater space for up to 125. Groups looking for fun and entertainment can enjoy songwriter sessions, rising-star showcases, shareable plates, and seasonal cocktails at Parton’s Live most nights.
Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum spans the entire 20,000-square-foot third floor of the hotel and hosts up to 235 reception-style in its Hall of Fame Gallery, while its colorful Imagination Library accommodates 40. Group tours can be booked at the museum, which takes visitors on a journey from the small cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains where Parton was born through her early Nashville days, rise in TV and film, the founding of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, and decades of philanthropy.
Los Angeles-based design studio AOA served as the creative and production partner behind the museum and the project manager for the hotel, working directly with Parton, her sister Rachel Parton George, niece Rebecca Seaver, and costume designer Steve Summers to translate the singer’s life into immersive environments.
