The Clara Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, opened in Plano earlier this year after a major renovation and rebrand of what was originally NYLO Hotel, one of the first loft-style lifestyle hotels in the country when it opened in 2007. The transformation came after Grapevine-based hospitality firm NewcrestImage acquired the property last August.

Anchoring the renovation project is a design-forward style that emphasizes natural textures, layered lighting, and residential comfort. Among its 176 overnight rooms are eight suites—Junior Suites, one-bedroom suites, and Presidential Suites—all of which feature warm wood finishes, calming color palettes, rainfall showers, and other modern amenities.

For meetings and events, there are several on-site gathering spaces for planners to consider. The 792-square-foot Legacy Meeting Room hosts up to 50 attendees reception-style, the Plano Meeting Room spans 598 square feet for up to 30 people reception-style, and an outdoor courtyard and gazebo provide a beautifully landscaped setting for up to 300. Additional function spaces include the Preston, Blue Bonnet, and Magnolia boardrooms, as well as the hotel’s two food and beverage outlets—Field & Vine restaurant and a moody speakeasy.

“Whether hosting a corporate retreat, executive meeting, wedding celebration, or social gathering, planners enjoy [the hotel’s] flexible event venues, elevated food and beverage offerings, and the unique atmosphere of a lifestyle hotel that feels both sophisticated and welcoming,” says Samantha Evans, sales manager at the property. “Best of all, when the event concludes, attendees can simply take the elevator upstairs to their beautifully renovated guest rooms, creating a seamless and stress-free experience from start to finish.”

Additional event amenities on-site include customizable catering menus, on-site sales and event professionals to assist in planning and execution, and built-in audiovisual technologies, among others. Between meeting sessions, attendees can explore the hotel’s heated outdoor pool and 24-hour fitness center, the latter featuring two dry saunas.
