This is not your college-era Rockit Bar & Grill. After celebrating a wild decade, the 10-year-old River North hot spot is now all grown up with a new remodel that brings the drama to both the space and the food. Designers stripped the building down to bring out the natural architecture, painted the walls with a darker color scheme of blacks and grays and imported a 50-foot Carrara marble bar that has become the restaurant’s centerpiece.
A revamped menu, from Executive Chef Amanda Downing and Executive Chef and partner Kevin Hickey, keeps with the elevated tone. Guests can choose from options such as lamb nachos, espresso-rubbed hanger steak, garlic bread prawns and, of course, a hearty selection of burgers including a surf and turf option.
Planners can rent out a second-floor “party lounge” with a fully equipped DJ booth, projection screens, A/V and branding opportunities. The lounge accommodates 300, while a full buyout is available for 500.
