Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks, announced a contract renewal for the company to continue as the exclusive telecommunications partner for the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC). The updated contract will extend the partnership between Smart City and the venue for another seven years with three one-year extension options. The renewal follows a competitive request for a proposal (RFP) phase.
Smart City Networks, more commonly known as Convention Communication Provisioners Inc. (CCPI), has provided telecommunications services for the facility for 15 years. Smart City is also a Gold Partner of Xirrus, and had the company custom design a wireless network for the venue, in order to meet the needs of the WSCC’s customers in terms of speed and capacity.
“Smart City/CCPI has been a trusted partner of the Washington State Convention Center over the years and in its proposal response, they demonstrated a thorough understanding of our customers’ needs,” said Jeff Blosser, president and CEO of the Washington State Convention Center Public Facilities District. “CCPI’s technical designs, combined with that customer knowledge, made the company the right choice for our facility. We are excited to offer the best networking experience in our industry at the Washington State Convention Center.”
CCPI will continue providing telecommunications and Internet services for the venue’s wide range of international events and trade shows including PAX Prime, Northwest Flower and Garden, PASS SQL, and Emerald City ComiCon. The company’s services include providing network cabling, high-speed Internet, turnkey data networking services and WiFi.
