The 1 Hotel Austin opened in August in the state’s tallest building, the Waterline tower, situated at the corner of East Cesar Chavez and Red River streets. Biophilic design defines the property with natural materials and textures, blending the line between indoors and out with several balconies, terraces, and expansive windows with views of the surrounding landscape. There are 252 guest rooms on-site, including 60 luxury suites, plus several food and beverage offerings and 10,000 square feet of function space. Sustainability plays a key role in the hotel’s offerings with its Certified Sustainable Gatherings program available to planners to reduce their events’ environmental impact. Wellness also anchors many of the hotel’s amenities, such as a 2,000-square-foot fitness center and dedicated yoga studio.
