Cvent, a Virginia-based event-management software company, held its flagship conference, Cvent Connect, in Nashville, Tennessee, in mid-July at Music City Center. Cvent presented the Cvent Excellence Awards during the conference, honors that recognize standout leaders and venues across the meetings, events, and hospitality industries, and this year’s program celebrated the InterContinental Houston for its data-driven strategies to secure and host meetings and events.

The property received The Business Intelligencer award for Excellence in Hospitality Analytics, recognizing its innovative approach to using analytics to improve sales performance, maximize meeting and event opportunities, and deliver exceptional value to planners and attendees. Cvent announced the accolade at the same time the hotel launched its newly dedicated meetings website.

“We’re incredibly honored to receive this recognition from Cvent, which is a true testament to the dedication of our entire team at InterContinental Houston,” says David Fusto, director of sales and marketing at the hotel, in a prepared statement. “This award highlights how we pair data-driven insights with our passion for world-class hospitality to deliver exceptional, customized experiences for every meeting and event we host.”

The AAA Four-Diamond hotel sits south of Houston’s downtown near the Texas Medical Center campus and Rice University. It offers 354 guest rooms and suites, as well as 18,000 square feet of function space across 14 venues, including the 7,646-square-foot Live Oak Ballroom and several smaller breakout rooms.
