Known for its Texas-shaped rooftop lazy river, the Marriott Marquis Houston is making a splash in the meetings world following the completion of a propertywide renovation that wrapped at the end of March. The transformation touched all 1,000 guest rooms and 150,000 square feet of event space, incorporating fresh furnishings and upholstery, curated artworks, and warm color palettes into the revamped design.

“As Houston’s status as an international destination for global business and entertainment continues to rise, we sought to elevate the guest experience by combining the Marriott brand’s signature reliability with the unique spirit of the city,” says Thomas Inasu, the hotel’s manager, in a prepared statement. “We aren’t just updating spaces, we are setting the stage for world-class events and personal milestones that define our community.”

Among the refreshed gathering spaces are the Texas and Houston ballrooms, which offer 39,295 square feet and 21,420 square feet of event space, respectively. There also are several boardrooms, salons, and outdoor spaces to consider. Additionally, the hotel is connected to the George R. Brown Convention Center via skybridge, offering even more gathering space for groups.
