Three hotels in Lisle have spring cleaning on the brain with in-progress renovations expected to debut in the next couple of months. The Hilton, Hyatt, and Sheraton hotels and conference centers are all updating their public areas, restaurants, meeting rooms, guest rooms, lobbies and fitness centers. All three remain open for business during construction.
Renovations at the Hilton will update the design and look of the common areas and on-site Allgauer’s Restaurant and Lobby Bar. The Hilton has more than 300 guest rooms and 23 meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 500 guests. Allgauer’s also provides custom catering for group events as well as a private dining room for 30 people.
The centerpiece of the Hyatt’s overhaul is transforming its current multi-tier lobby to a single level, open design with refreshed flooring and contemporary furniture. A new bar, 1400 West, will be centrally located here and outfitted with complimentary Wi-Fi service. In addition, the hotel will increase its capacity of their outdoor pavilion to accommodate 200 guests adding on to the more than 15,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space including 17 meeting rooms.
The Sheraton Lisle is in the midst of a multi-million dollar transformation that includes renovations to the Sheraton Club business lounge, lobby, fitness center, ballroom, Entre Restaurant & Bar and guest rooms. The social lobby adds communal seating, modernized décor and high-speed Internet access. Guest rooms have been furnished with the Sheraton Sweet SleeperTM Bed, flat-screen TVs, wireless Internet, bathrobes and in-room safes. The property has nearly 25,000 square feet of IACC-certified conference center space, including the 11,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, an amphitheater and 18 other versatile meeting rooms.
In other news from Lisle, the CVB recently announced the results of its 32nd annual Eyes to the Skies charity festival held every summer with food, entertainment, a craft fair, carnival and parade. For the 2014 edition, the affiliate charities were presented a total of $115,000 at the October 20, 2014 Village Board meeting. All amounts were paid out based on the number of hours members volunteered during the festival. Here are the specific donations:
• Chamber of Commerce – $7,544.73
• Education Foundation – $14,403.58
• Kiwanis – $9,302.31
• Lions – $21,633.95
• Partners for Parks – $39,781.31
• Rotary – $22.334.12
