Scott Castillo-Milburn, owner of mobile bartending service Classic Cocktails by Scott, developed this recipe last summer for a client who was looking for a bourbon-based drink that would feel seasonal and light for an evening party. The night ended with everyone who’d tried it asking for the recipe, and Castillo-Milburn has since replicated it at 10 events. He’s kept the drink a secret—until now. INGREDIENTS
– 3-4 blueberries, plus more for garnish
– 4 dashes cherry bitters
– lemon wheel
– .5 oz. simple syrup
– .5 oz. fresh lemon juice
– 2 oz. Bulleit Bourbon
– 3 oz. ginger ale
DIRECTIONS
In a rocks glass, add three to four blueberries, the lemon wheel, cherry bitters, simple syrup and lemon juice. Lightly muddle all ingredients. Fill the glass with ice and add 2 ounces of Bulleit Bourbon. Stir with a cocktail spoon, then top with ginger ale. Garnish with a lemon twist and two blueberries on a cocktail skewer.
