AFROTECH Conference 2022 is coming to the Austin Convention Center and Hilton Austin this November. It will be the first time the event has taken place outside of the state of California.
Founded in 2016 by Blavity Inc., AFROTECH Conference is the largest multicultural tech gathering in the United States. It convenes engineers, venture capitalists, recruiters, technologists, and culture enthusiasts from all over the world for thought leadership, networking, and community building.
In past years, more than 10,000 programmers, engineers, and entrepreneurs have attended the conference, which features on-site interviews with representatives from companies such as Amazon, Qualcomm, and Bank of America.
The 2022 event will be Blavity’s first in-person event since 2019. Organizers chose Austin in part because it is a “thriving national tech hub and home to tech mammoths such as Dell, Samsung, Google, Oracle, Tesla, Apple, NXP, IBM, Amazon, and Facebook,” says Rodney Gonzales, who oversees economic opportunity and affordability as Austin’s assistant city manager. afrotech.com
