In 2023, the city of Conroe, just north of Houston, will welcome the 250-room Hyatt Regency Conroe and Convention Center to the Grand Central Park master-planned community. The hotel’s amenities will include a full-service restaurant, full bar, pool deck, fitness facility, and market. With an anticipated opening in the second quarter of 2023, the convention center will consist of 39,000 square feet of event and meeting space, including a 14,000-square-foot grand ballroom, 6,500-square-foot junior ballroom, 8,000 square feet of breakout spaces and boardrooms, and pre-function space.
Conroe’s Assistant City Administrator/Chief Financial Officer Steve Williams says the project is financially self-sustaining. The full cost of operations and debt service is expected to be paid using revenues and taxes generated from the hotel and convention center.
